Written and directed by the multi award-winning Stephen Poliakoff (following his huge success writing and directing the BBC’s Perfect Strangers and The Lost Prince), Sweet Panic sees the eagerly awaited return to the London stage of Oscar nominee Jane Horrocks (Little Voice, Absolutely Fabulous) and Victoria Hamilton (Tony nominated for A Day in the Death of Joe Egg).

Also starring John Gordon Sinclair (Gregory’s Girl), Daniela Denby-Ashe (My Family, East Enders), Rupert Evans (Sons and Lovers, Rock Face) and Philip Bird, this fresh production will uniquely be turned into a major television motion picture. By turns funny and moving, Sweet Panic is a gripping urban thriller that both entertains and excites.

A successful psychologist, Clare Attwood is a happy woman. Her work is satisfying, her partner attentive and supportive – she knows her mind and she knows how to live in a hectic urban environment. But, a series of ill-judged decisions incurs the wrath of Mrs Trevel, the mother of one of her young clients. As Mrs Trevel’s behaviour becomes increasingly sinister and her obsession takes hold, this once confident psychologist is forced to re-appraise both her own life and that of the young people who are in her charge...
